Pineapple Bacon Roll (special appetizer of the day), All Day Breakfast and Ice Caramel Latte
It was a long and hectic day. Started off by awaking at 3am again despite the late night midnight start of sleep. But unlike other days, I was unable to doze off back to sleep again even though I tried by lying in bed the whole time with my eyes closed. By 5:45am, I decided to wake up a little earlier since it's just 15 minutes left till 6am. Unusually, today wasn't as tired as I used to feel throughout the day.
Planned for a trip back home during lunch hour to grab a power nap but failed to carry through my plan today because I was late in going out and so I decided to just stay in the office. My colleagues along with my HOD were so surprised at me staying put during lunch hour. After all, I'm famously known to rush off early to lunch every day to de-stress. I couldn't take life like I used to anymore. Not as strong willed as before. Hence the need to do so. Especially after my meltdown episode back in February 2015.
Well, back on topic. My original plan for coming to Kota Damansara was to visit the Bonjour Garden Cafe but I'm unable to locate it. Maybe they closed down? I can see the food court and I tried looking for it from all sides but fail to find it. I'm beginning to become as blind as a bat. LOL.
After trying for a while, I decided to give up and head for 3 Bags Full instead. Bonjour Garden Cafe can wait. In fact, I think I'll visit The Intermark branch. It should be beautiful there.
So I backtracked to where I was and went to 3 Bags Full. Upon entering, I was greeted properly and were seated. At the time I was there, the whole staff team were Filipinos. LOL. But they're polite and were attentive to my needs. They also know the menu well and spoke reasonably well where I'm able to understand them. The first thing they do when I sat down was to draw my attention to the Special menu board after handing me a menu. I also noticed that they serve alcohol as well. Interesting.
I looked around for the WiFi password and the waitress saw me doing so and cleverly passed me the password. Good job. :D That's some great observation. After inquiring about the Pineapple Bacon Roll on whether if it's a main (which is not. It's just an appetizer), I decided to order it to try out anyway along with the All Day Breakfast and an Ice Caramel Latte.
It took quite some time for any of the order to surface, even the drink but I was handed a glass of drinking water to quench my thirst first which is good service. The Pineapple Bacon Roll came out first which coincidentally, another table ordered the same as well. So both came out at the same time despite them ordering earlier. It was nothing special. Just a clever design. The taste is very much expected and didn't deviate from expectations. Pineapple with bacon taste. Which I admit did work together. Just no wow factor.
The Ice Caramel Latte was also the same, expected taste. It was a bit sloppy when they slap the whipped cream on top along with caramel syrup drizzled on top. So sloppy that it oozes off the cup and made my hands quite sticky. So I wiped the cup off instead. LOL.
The All Day Breakfast consists of Mushrooms with greens, sauteed tomatoes (which were horrible and so I refrain from finishing it off after eating one), supposedly Scrambled Eggs, Baked Beans, Sausage, Turkey Ham and Bread with salted butter on top. Actually, I'm not really sure if it's bread or not. It tasted more like croissant material and that's the best thing about this dish - the pastry. The sausage was unique. They had cream cheese squeezed in it and it does enhance it's flavor. But the sausage has lots more to improve on. The ham is ordinary. The mushrooms are okay along with the salad greens. Baked beans goes without saying are the can ones. While the scrambled egg needs way more improvement. It does not have enough taste and texture is a little here nor there. The pepper that was sprinkled on top were far too concentrated on just one area and that got me choking when I got to the part while achieving none on the outer portion.
The cafe looks good and mostly couples and families dine in here. They draw a sizable enough customers and throughout my time there, there's no lone diners. The ones who seemed to be lone diners are actually acquaintance of the owners of the cafe whom came later that evening and they are actually people who's doing some work there for them. Well, that's what I gather. Nevertheless, it is quite a single friendly cafe with ample seats for a lone diner like me.
Total Wallet Damage:
The price is far too much on the high side. RM50.15. With 6% GST imposed and 10% service charge. Even the service charge has a 6% GST charge. The ice caramel latte by itself is already RM12.72. Quite high for it's price if I may say so. Kota Damansara shouldn't have such a high priced food for a cafe.
Final Verdict:
5/10. Although I must say, the service rendered towards me was impressive enough to me. Not as great as Monte's that I visited the other day but they're different ball parks altogether. I gave them such low scores (which a 5 means so-so and will only return if dragged by a friend who wants to try) due to their pricing which I feel it's expensive and the deliciousness of their food and drinks.
