I roughly know where this place is located but that path is the road that I travel less frequent. I use to use this road a lot as a shortcut to avoid the jam but ever since a lot of cars started using that road to avoid LDP, it's best to stick to LDP since that road and the roads that lead to it acts more of a one lane road even though it's not. Along with the always faulty traffic light at the tunnel there, it's just a disaster to go there in order to go to 1 Utama. Anyway, it merely took me a 7 minutes drive from my place and it's easy to spot this place despite signs merely appear on the ground floor section because of it's strategic location of facing the intersection where all cars that stop at the traffic light no matter which direction they're facing, they're bound to notice it.

J&D Espresso has a posh outlook to it when I first glance it. The gold logo with black backdrop reminds me of Perilly's (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y31cYTCnFnQ) a stylish and elegant perception to it. The entrance to the place is a bit weird because it's merely a small opening gap to the indoors since they only open up one part of the slide door. I initially thought it was a side door for staff entry since there are many staff standing around there and that's where the coffee bar is where there's no seating. But after a quick lookaround, I found out that that IS the main entrance as small as it may be. There's also al fresco seatings along the cramp outside corridor catered for smokers and those who want more of the sunlight. But as the creatures of the dark like me, I prefer a much more hidden indoor section though that would mean sacrificing great lighting on photo taking. No matter. I'm just gonna take with my camera phone anyway.

Their menu is a hardboard menu where one side displays the beverages available and the flip side portrays the food. You are given an order chit and a pencil to write your orders down. The order chit has all of the items on the menu on it so all you need to do is write down the quantity of the item you need. The Big Aussie Brekky comes with 2 eggs where you can either have it Sunny Side Up, Poached or Scrambled which I chose it to be sunny side up.

The orders were quick to deliver to my table. I haven't even settled down at my seat and already my Hot Chocolate came followed by my breakfast minutes after.

The Hot Chocolate has a nice looking art drawn on it and it stayed intact even when I sip on it. The Hot Chocolate was perfect to me, not too sweet and just nice. Temperature wise was also good since you can enjoy it straight away without burning your tongue or lips. It would've even been better should there be a marshmallow but it's okay. It's only RM9 anyway. I was fairly pleased with the beverage.

When the Big Aussie Brekky came, it look lovely. The first thing that I took a bite was the cherry tomatoes. The cherry tomatoes were a bit too squishy. With just a fork and butter knife at my disposal, squirted the cherry tomatoes away instead of able to poke it in comfortably and pop it in my mouth. Next I went for the mushrooms which was lovely. It's at an above average taste to me. I then tried the mushroom croquetas and this is by far the most disappointing of all the ingredients on the plate. It's too runny on the inside and the outer layer didn't give the crispy feel I was looking for. Along with that, there weren't enough taste emanating from it. But nonetheless, it's okay for consumption. There's nothing much to say for the baked beans because they're just baked beans. LOL. The two sunny side up eggs with the sourdough bread below were perfect. I love eggs and this reminds me of why I love it. The Smoked Garlic Sausage came to me as a bit too salty but still, it has a very delicious taste to it. I just need to pair it off with the eggs runny yolk in order to mellow down the saltiness. And finally, my favorite bit of the whole breakfast - the Pork Bacon. I have not had pork bacon for so long and eating this brought me to heaven and beyond. It's perfect. Crispy in all the right places, chewy in some of it with the buttery smoothness of it melting in my tongue and the saltiness is just right. If this pork bacon is the last thing I ever taste, I would've died a happy man. :)

Ambiance-wise of the place, it's cozy, it's relaxing with some rays of sunlight penetrating through. There are many people around in and I can understand why a lot of them prefer this lovely place.

Parking wouldn't be a problem on a weekend since there's not many shops around there let alone being open. This place is the only one that draws the crowd there.

Total Wallet Damage:
RM44.30. When I scrutinize the bill, the items are quite cheap with the Hot Chocolate priced at RM9 and the breakfast at RM29. It's only because it incur a 10% service charge and a 6% GST charge that makes it slightly dearer. But seeing that they had such incredible service despite them being foreign workers, I don't mind the 10% service charge. They were very attentive even though at the busy peak time and always serve with a smile and am polite with their limited English. Charming.

Final Verdict:
9/10. Love this place. A restaurant situated in the quiet part of town that looks posh and close to fine dining looking dishes that taste just as incredible at an affordable price. Not to mention the excellent service provided by the staff and most importantly, smiles that look genuine. I would certainly want to return again.

P.S: If you take a closer look at the table number picture, you'll see that there's a fine print there indicating that they charge for mineral water and there's no free refills.
