Hainan Kaya Butter Bread and Soya Milk with Cincau
This place looks to me has the same concept as Old Town Kopitiam where it's a franchise establishment that paradigm shifts the ever old style of how a local kopitiam shop should be. A more upclass and upscale type that features self ordering sheets, wait staffs with uniforms, a place that's air conditioned, a more precised way of preparing food rather than just the look and feel of it and a wide array of dishes that ranges from local cuisines to western counterparts.

During my visit there, I decided to just keep it simple to the bare origins of kopitiam where the bread can sometimes be the very essence of it. What I like about Hometown Hainan Coffee is that they also have steamed bread in addition to toasted. When I ordered the Hainan Kaya Butter Bread, I was asked on whether I wanted it to be toasted or steamed. Having not tasted a steamed one for so long, I decided to order it and also have my Soya Milk with Cincau cold.

The Soya Milk with Cincau came first which wasn't a surprise and it tasted with a bare enough soya milk taste with the cincau strips providing some sweetness to it. Not unusual nor was it out of the ordinary surprising so I'm just gonna give it passing marks.

However, the Hainan Kaya Butter Bread was a different experience. As I sank my teeth into the soft breaded texture that's held tightly together with the green kaya and butter, it tasted excellent. I can't tell you how long it has been since I've tasted such delicious bread with such addictive butter taste harmonized together by the lovely taste of kaya and I'm not even a fan of kayas. As soon as I've finished up the dish, I was left craving for more but managed to control myself.

There's also the bonus point of it's WiFi. It's WiFi was very fast and I can understand why. It's only activated for customers once they've keyed in the login id and password provided in the form of your ordered sheet that's punched into the system. Once the customer pays the bill and checks out, I believe the system will terminate the account until another customer takes the same table.

They also implement the call button system so if you're not in their view, you can just press the call button for a wait staff to attend to you which is great

Total Wallet Damage:
RM12.60. 6% GST charge and also 10% service charge. Fair enough. But it's almost equivalent to my meal at Face to Face. D:

Final Verdict:
8/10. Nice place to chill. Plenty of space so a lone diner like me don't have to worry much about getting a place. Very fast Internet line and awesome steamed bread. Very much according to my liking. The downside is probably the pricing. Although affordable yet I couldn't help comparing it with Face to Face since I just came from that place. LOL.
