Cafe Latte and a Key Lime Pie
After a rather satisfying dinner at Mak's Chee with their ever so delicious famous wonton noodles, I decided to go for some dessert and coffee seeing that I'm not really that full from just that noodles and wonton alone.

So I decided to give Infusion: Specialty Coffee Co a try since I've not done so before. Infusion is located at the Old Wing of 1 Utama and is one of those middle booths thing instead of a proper outlet on it's own where you can lock the doors up. It has comfy sofa settings at the back of their preparation area and some chairs and tables set up at the aisle area. I decided to go for their Key Lime Pie and as usual, a Latte. After paying upfront, they said I can have a seat first and they'll send my orders to me to which I chose one of those chairs at the aisle seat.

After a fair bit of waiting, the coffee and the Key Lime Pie was served to me. The Key Lime Pie was a whole pie that's the size of slightly bigger than a Petri dish and is filled with cream at the top portion but carefully not touching the outer crust. There's some sprinkles of lime shavings in the middle of the pie. Using the fork to dig into it, it's well encrusted that's solid for the outer layer and slightly crumbly on the inner portion. Strong solid lime taste throughout the pie with very vague hints of sweetness. The most empowering strong taste would be the bitterness of the lime especially when I hit the lime shavings. A little unexpected from that. It would be better for me if it's balanced more with sweetness than just bitterness and sourish lime taste. The pastry by itself was a mouthful, dense and packed with it's pie goodness.

As for the latte, the art seems to have it's staying power throughout my sips and didn't fade away. Hence, the milk was well frothed and the balance ratio of milk and coffee was splendid. Just the right amount for that moderate coffee taste profile that they had when I was there. It didn't mix well with the Key Lime Pie though as the bitter taste overwhelms the silky milky taste of the coffee and I thought it best to just eat the Key Lime Pie on it's own first before finishing off my coffee.

An odd chance encounter that I had when I saw someone waving at me. Initially, I couldn't recognize her and was thinking whether was she waving to me. After thinking for a second, I deduced that it must be since there shouldn't be anyone behind me and sure enough, it was one of my fellow Christian compatriot that I used to attend Christian meetings with. She just asked me a question and left. Seems like she's in such a hurry. Well, she always look that way. LOL.

As the time for me to adjourn to the movie theater draws ever closer, I rest awhile and headed off to the intended destination.

Total Wallet Damage:
RM25.80. Latte costs RM11.90 and the Pie - RM13.90. This includes GST of 6%.

Final Verdict:
6/10. Key Lime Pie may worked for some, but not for me. I long for some sweetness in it instead of just mostly sourness with the bitter aftertaste. The coffee was good though. I like that.
